This bill expands Medicaid coverage to 185% of the federal poverty level for 60 days post-partum, and CHIP coverage up to 300% of the federal poverty level post-partum. America's maternal mortality rate is far higher than comprable countries. The rate is even worse for people of color. Access to affordable healthcare through the pregnancy and in the post-partum period is a key part of reducing this rate and expanding reproductive justice.
