West Virginians Sound Alarm on Possible Overturning of Legal Right to Abortion

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia advocates, medical providers, legal experts and others sounded the alarm Wednesday as oral arguments began at the U.S. Supreme Court in a case that could end access to safe, legal abortion.

We Are Again Asking Gov. Justice to Stop Declaring Thanksgiving Week 'Christian Heritage Week'

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The American Civil Liberties Union of West Virginia (ACLU-WV) is again asking Gov. Jim Justice to stop the practice of declaring the week leading up to Thanksgiving as “Christian Heritage Week.” Sadly, this is the 30th consecutive year West Virginia has made this declaration.

We have been informed the Randolph County Superintendent is withdrawing her recommendation to expel our client, who was facing an expulsion hearing for using social media to warn his LGBTQ+ classmates about violent threats he’d heard about them.
