Today, members of our staff and several volunteers spread out across the state and assisted detainees at all 10 regional jails in West Virginia register to vote.

Anyone in jail for a misdemeanor charge may still vote in this historic election. Those who are awaiting trial for felony convictions may also vote while incarcerated. Although convicted felons do lose the right to vote while incarcerated, they may re-register to vote once their parole has ended.

We want to extend a special thank you to volunteers Rosemary Kethcum, Lora Whittington, Zachary Davis and Amber Bjornsson for helping us collect and mail voter registration forms.

ACLU staff members and volunteers collected and mailed voter registration forms at all 10 of West Virginia's regional jails.
