The William Denman Youth Scholarship is a $1,000 award for graduating high school seniors or those who recently graduated to an accredited college or university. Applicants should possess a demonstrated commitment to equal rights and fairness through their personal actions and involvement in a school or community program.

HOW TO APPLY:


Send a personal statement of 1,000 words or less describing your civil liberties activism. Please include your understanding of what it means to be a civil liberties activist, specific examples of how you demonstrated your dedication to civil liberties, challenges you overcame, and how you showed leadership.  

Make sure your submission includes your name, your address, your phone number, your email address, the name of your high school, the name of the college or university you are attending, and the name of one non-family member reference who can speak to your activism and commitment to civil liberties (please provide the reference’s relationship to you and their contact information.)

Deadline for submissions is June 7.
